One minute you’re brushing out their curls after bath time, and the next, you’re on your tippy toes in the bathroom, trying to help them style their hair before going out.

This photo looks simple, but it means so much to me. We’ve been in a season lately where me just breathing in his direction seems to annoy him. Teenage moods, growing pains, needing space—I get it. But it makes moments like this one hit even harder.
Because he needed me. And he let me.
No eye rolls, no attitude. Just a quiet pause in the morning routine where I got to show up for him in this small, familiar way. A little spray, a little fluff, and laughter.
He’s taller than me now. I have to reach for the top of his head. And even though I know he won’t always need me like this, I hope he’ll remember that I was there.
On my tippy toes.
Trying.
Loving him the best way I know how.
